As part of Egypt’s national infrastructure and regional connectivity initiatives, TESECO provided consultancy services for the construction of the Western Arc of the Omar Suleiman Axis, one of Alexandria’s newest strategic transportation corridors. The project, supervised by the Central Agency for Reconstruction, aims to transform transportation and urban connectivity in the western part of the city.

Length: Approximately 20 kilometers
Width: 6 traffic lanes in each direction
Central median and shoulder lanes
3 overpasses and 24 surface-level bridges
Elevated bridge over the Alexandria–Matrouh railway crossing
🎯 Strategy Objectives
Traffic flow
Improve traffic flow at Alexandria’s main gateways and exits.
New connections
Connect western Alexandria with new urban and industrial centers.
Reducing congestion
Reduce congestion within the city and improve access to Borg El Arab Airport and coastal tourism areas.
Tourism map support
Support the national strategy to position Alexandria on the global tourism map.
🛠️ Implementation Phases
The axis
The axis was divided into 3 sections, each assigned to different national contractors working in parallel to accelerate delivery.
Supervision
The project is being carried out under the direct supervision of the North Middle Coastal Reconstruction Authority, in coordination with leading companies and consultants.
Project Signature
. Provides direct connectivity between: the Alexandria Desert Road, Borg El Arab International Airport, Borg El Arab Industrial City, and the International Coastal Road.
. Absorbs traffic to and from the North Coast without the need to enter central Alexandria.
. Strengthens industrial, logistical, and agricultural development zones around Borg El Arab by linking them to the national road network.
